So a big feature of SEED will be the player driven economy. This is a very exciting and important aspect to a MMO such as SEED. Before we get there, we’ll be implementing small versions of economy gameplay, tweaking production gameplay around in-game shopping and money. So let’s take a quick look at what we got currently.
This first iteration of the Economy feature allows you to earn money through jobs and spend it for buying daily supplies for your household. Your Seedling will earn money no matter how bad they perform at their job - for now! We’ll be touching on how a job can be done well or done badly in a future blogpost.
This earned money will then be available to purchase items at the supermarket - but only as long as stocks last. If an item is in stock, then the price it costs will be automatically deducted from your account and delivered to your home. Currently there will be two points where you can spend money: a supermarket and a terminal in your home.
We have not yet settled on the name of the currency in the game. Watch this space to see what Seed Industries calls the in-game currency!
